Arrival Day: Las Vegas, and St George.
After you arrive in Las Vegas and collect your luggage you will connect with a shuttle which will then transport you to St George, UT for your overnight stay. Get settled in, enjoy the beauty of the city of St George. And get ready for your tour that starts first thing the next morning.
Day One: Zion National Park
We begin our Mighty 5 tour with a 7:00 AM departure from your hotel in St George UT. We will be heading for one of the most beautiful hikes in Zion, The Narrows. But first, we will get geared up with the equipment needed to make the hike. After we are outfitted we will head directly into the park to begin our hike.
The Narrows is formed where the Virgin River has carved out a narrow canyon with 2,000-foot cliffs on each side. We will make our way into the Narrows as far as the Orderville canyon split before turning to make our way back out. After we exit we will go get some lunch before visiting the upper East side of ZIon National Park.
Later that evening, we enjoy a welcome dinner and lodging in nearby Springdale, Utah. (Dinner)
Day Two: Bryce Canyon National Park
Bryce Canyon is a short, two-hour drive from our hotel in Springdale. We will make our way there with just a brief stop in Red Canyon where we get our first taste of the hoodoos up close.
There is no other place on earth like Bryce Canyon. Made famous for its pink and white uniquely shaped hoodoos, Bryce Canyon is a place that must be experienced. We will spend the day exploring the views from the rim and descending into the depths of the canyon.
For those that want to experience the canyon in a different manner, you can take the optional descent into the canyon by horseback led by the local wranglers.
Lodging and dinner will be in Bryce, Utah. (Breakfast)
Day Three: Capitol Reef National Park
For those who would like to see Bryce at sunrise, we offer the opportunity to view the canyon as the sun breaks over the horizon. The beautiful pink cliffs are lit by the first rays as the sun peaks over the horizon. It is an experience that should not be missed.
After we return to the hotel and get breakfast we will load up the vehicle and begin our journey to Capitol Reef National Park by making our way over the famous Highway 12, truly one of America’s most scenic highways. It will take us into the depths of some of the most remote parts of the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. No other place in the lower 48 is as remote and undiscovered as in this part of Utah. See why “Car and Driver” magazine and others have called Highway 12 one of America’s most beautiful drives.
Capital Reef is Utah’s least visited national park so don’t expect large crowds of people. We have an afternoon scenic drive in Capital Reef’sWater Pocket fold. We visit an ancient Petroglyph panel. Seasonal fruit can be picked in the old pioneer orchards and small pies and ice cream are available in the nearby Gifford House Museum.
We will take an afternoon hike in one of our favorite hikes before retiring to our hotel for the evening.
An Optional star gazing activity can be booked, weather dependent.
Lodging and dinner will be in Torrey, UT
Day Four: Goblin Valley, Slot Canyon Exploration
In the morning we head for Utah’s most unusual State Park, Goblin Valley. The rock formations here are unique and have an unearthly and strange look about them. We will spend some time exploring the park before making our way out and on to our next adventure.
After we have finished our time in Goblin Valley it is time to explore a new element of the West. We will make our way to a nearby slot canyon. Slot Canyon’s dot the Southwest and are defined by their narrow passages with high walls. We will spend our time weaving our way through the narrow walls of the canyon and getting some great photo opportunities.
Afterward, we will make our way to Green River Utah to get a late lunch. We will then make our way to Moab, Utah. We will make our way down the Colorado River Corridor to view some fantastic Petroglyphs up close before getting checked into our hotel for the evening. We will want to get to bed relatively early as we have an early morning ahead of us.
Dinner and Lodging will be in Moab, Utah, that evening. (Breakfast)
Day Five: Arches and Hummer Tour
We will be getting an early morning start to be able to get up to the most famous arch in Utah, Delicate Arch. The views from the Arch offer fantastic opportunities for photos and the unique trail offers an adventure like no other. Withing the park we will visit the additional sites which include the Windows, Balanced Rock, Park Avenue, and more!
We will spend the majority of the day in the park and have a picnic lunch to maximize our time visiting the spectacular features of Arches.
That evening we will take a hummer tour into the red rock surrounding the town of Moab. The Hummer gives us the opportunity to enter areas not normally open to the average visitor and allows us to experience some of what brings so many thousands of Jeep enthusiasts to Moab every year.
Dinner will be on us.
Overnight Moab, UT (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day Six: Canyonlands and Deadhorsepoint State Park
After Breakfast, we take in Utah’s most beautiful State Park, Dead Horse Point. Here, a fantastic view of the canyons of the Colorado River is offered from a towering mesa, hundreds of feet above the canyon.
We will then make our way to the Island in the Sky section of Canyonlands National Park. Here we will take a walk to Mesa Arch and spend some time at the Grand Viewpoint.
From there we will begin our Journey to Salt Lake City UT. We should arrive in Salt Lake City between 6 and 7 pm.
(Breakfast)
